YOUNG PRESIDIANS PRESENT A PLAY ON THE RIME OF ANCIENT MARINER

‘To communicate through silence is a link between the thoughts of a man.’

Keeping this in mind, students of grade 10 presented their rendition of The Rime of Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. All the participants presented their piece with extreme clarity and perfection; they were all appreciated by the heads, teachers and students. The act prepared by the students varied in expressions and were well blended with a touch of sensitization. It was indeed delight watching each participant perform flawlessly.  Overall, it was a great show as the participants tried their best to leave an impact on the audience making them aware of the laws in our society.

BUDDING ASTRONOMERS CREATE CONSTELLATIONS UNDER THEME 'SKY'

A constellation is a group of stars that make an imaginary shape in the night sky. The prospective astronomers of grade 3 created their own constellations during 'Make your own constellation activity', while completing the theme of ‘Sky'. They brought black plain sheets and colourful star stickers for the same and applied their prior knowledge about famous constellations such as The Great Bear, The Delphinus and The Orion, while completing the activity. The students then named their own constellations and shared about the same with their classmates. This activity helped the students to develop their understanding about constellations in an interesting way.

The day that celebrates the life and work of the renowned educationist, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm at Presidium Dwarka 16B. Students expressed their gratitude and appreciated the efforts and hard work of the teachers. The day started with a special assembly presented by the students of grade 10 with an emotional touch. Speeches and skits were prepared to highlight the significance of a teacher in a student’s life. A mesmerizing dance and musical extravaganza lifted the spirits of the teachers who were happy to see the talent of their dear students. The celebration concluded with the address from the Vice Principal and academic head, whose words drove home the message that even the most seemingly and unfathomable concepts become understandable when they are related to real-time examples by the teachers.

September 5th, Teachers’ Day honors the educationists as well as the people in the field of education. Teaching, a profession which prepares people for other professions, is indeed a noble profession. This day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the second President of India. On this special occasion, the Students of Presidium Dwarka 16B got the opportunity to meet Chairman Sir, an educationist and visionary. Students also shared their thoughts about this special day. It was indeed a magnificent sight to see the students gleaming with happiness as they met their idol. The students thanked Sir and their teachers for the unconditional love and support.

YOUNG KANHAS AND RADHAS CELEBRATE THE FESTIVAL OF JANMASHTAMI

Janmashtami, the birth of Lord Krishna was celebrated with ardor by the students of grades 1 and 5 , wherein the students were dressed as Krishna, Rukmini, Radha and Gopis. The celebration commenced by invoking the blessings of Lord with a prayer. Students also enjoyed rocking the cradle of Lord Krishna. The audience was enchanted by the musical drama, which beautifully showcased the inspiring life of Krishna. The assembly conveyed the message of ‘Victory of Good over Evil’ and also raised the respect that the students have for the Indian tradition and culture.

LEARNING ABOUT FORESTS THROUGH 'CATCH ME IF YOU CAN' ACTIVITY

Self study, self exploration and self empowerment are the virtues of a great education. Catering to the need of the hour, students of grade 6 were provided with an opportunity to learn by doing. An activity named, ‘Catch me if you Can’ was conducted to recapitulate the theme, Forests. The topic of natural vegetation and wildlife was taken up by the students and the class was divided into 3 groups. Each group prepared different riddles related to their themes which were supposed to be asked by their opponent team. Along with this they were supposed to mark related states on the political map of India which was drawn by the facilitator. This activity certainly helped student put on their thinking caps and present their creativity.

True to its tradition of upholding the experiential learning model, the students of grade 1 of Presidium Dwarka 16B were treated to a meticulously planned, amusing, knowledgeable and fun packed activity based on the theme of ‘Naming Words’. The aim of the activity was to recall the topic of Nouns. It was an enriching experience for the students to enhance their understanding of the concepts of the English Grammar through a fun filled activity. The activity included rounds like ‘sorting’ and ‘tell my category’ creating interest among the students to learn things that might seem tedious.

BUILDING CAMARADERIE AND TEAM SPIRIT ON NATIONAL SPORTS DAY

‘Gold medals are not made of gold, but of sweat, determination and a hard to find alloy called guts’. National Sports Day is observed in the memory of India’s hockey wizard, Dhyan Chand. It is a day which gives us an opportunity to honour our sports heroes. To disseminate the life stories of India’s sports heroes and values we learn from sports the students of grade 8 conducted a special assembly on National Sports Day. The assembly began with a speech followed by a skit, depicting how sports burgeons a sense of camaraderie and inculcates team spirit. The skit was followed by a scintillating dance performance. The assembly was aimed at encouraging the students to play sports and develop mental and physical strength.

To celebrate this eternal bond, four students from Presidium Dwarka 16B received the opportunity to meet and celebrate the festival with Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Honourable Chief Minister of Delhi at his residence. The students gifted the Chief Minister a sapling conveying their endeavour towards a green Delhi. The Chief Minister bestowed the students with lovely gifts and wishes for the entire Presidium family.

The students presented a sapling to the dignitary as a mark of growth. The humble leader guided the students to nurture plants and ensure greenery and growth in the surroundings. The students then tied beautiful rakhis on his wrist and the Vice President blessed the students and advised them to nurture the unique culture of the nation and staying connected to the native land.
