Patterns are the heart of Math. Understanding patterns help children to learn complex number concepts and mathematical operations. Patterns are everywhere! We find patterns in Math, but we also find patterns in nature, art, music, and literature. Patterns provide a sense of order in what might otherwise appear chaotic. To develop critical thinking and logical reasoning amongst students, an activity related to Patterns was organized at Presidium Dwarka 16B. Students were highly enthusiastic while creating growing, repeating and shrinking patterns with the help of bindis, buttons and stickers. They created, extended, and talked about patterns, thus took another step towards becoming strong mathematicians!

PRESIDIANS LEARN TO IDENTIFY NOUNS WITH WORD NAMING ACTIVITY

20-09-2018

Nouns make up the largest class of words in most languages, including English. A noun is a word that refers to a thing, person, an animal or a place. These are often retrievable from context or practical knowledge and tend to be redundant because of cohesion in speech and writing. It is an essential aspect that needs to be developed in the early years of learning for a student. They are the first and focal building squares of language.  Playing word games and giving reading exposure helps in the holistic development of students. Keeping the same in mind students were given an exposure to place the word cards under the correct headings. They got a practical experience of differentiating the names among the group of words. Moreover, the students were encouraged to speak aloud and share their word which helped in understanding the child’s learning process.
