CONFIDENT PRESIDIANS RAISE THE BAR AT INTER CLASS EXTEMPORE

Our students are given ample stage exposure and prospects to highlight their talents. They continue to surprise  us with their fantastic flair and achievements. The recently conducted 'Inter Class Extempore'  was another standing example of their amazing oratory skills. The students of grade 9 and 10 participated with zeal and spoke with enviable awareness, balance, authenticity, and confidence which is commendable and praiseworthy. Their presence of mind to recite on the spot on the given topic also won them applauds from the audience. Keep up the prodigious work Presidians!

PRESIDIANS HAVE A THRILLING EXPERIENCE ON THE TRIP TO NAINITAL

Travel leaves you speechless, and then, turns you into a story teller. 

This summer break, Presidium organized a fun filled trip to Nainital for the students of grade 8. They got an opportunity to learn in a totally different environment by looking after themselves and their belongings away from the supervision of their parents. Our Presidians enjoyed the company of their friends and had a taste of adventure by going on a night trek and indulging in thrilling activities like rappelling, caving and zip lining. The excitement and joy of walking on mall road and by the Naini lake could be seen in the eyes of the students. This trip, not only brought the spirit of camaraderie and friendship to the fore, but, also ignited the spark of travelling and adventure among our students.

YOUNG PRESIDIANS OBSERVE 'WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY'

Tobacco use is one of the most important preventable causes of premature death in the world. More than 6 million people per year die from tobacco use across the globe. To disseminate the idea of eliminating tobacco from our lives, an enlightening assembly was presented by grade 7 on the occasion of ‘World No Tobacco Day’. The message was well conveyed to the audience through an enlivening street play, showing the perilous effects of the consumption of tobacco. The students performed small role plays and imparted the vital message; ‘Say no to tobacco’ in fun filled way. At last, a pledge was taken by all to abstain themselves from tobacco.

EQUIPPING PRESIDIANS WITH THE KNOWHOW OF MAKING JUDICIOUS CHOICES

An enlightening assembly was recently conducted for students of grade 9 on ‘Making Judicious Choices’ wherein they were given a platform to display their talent and present themselves as holistic individuals. The assembly was an amalgamation of various enactments, dealing with various situations, where the children were asked what choices they would make if they were in the same situation. It ignited everyone’s imagination and guided them about the choices they make with a motivation to choose better options. The assembly climaxed with an inspiring address from the vice principal about making good choices by using knowledge, experience and expertise.

EDIFYING MORNING ASSEMBLY DISSIPATES AWARENESS ABOUT DENGUE FEVER

The Dengue fever and malaria are mosquito-borne tropical diseases. Each year millions of people suffer from these diseases and thousands lose their lives. They are particularly grave challenges in backward and progressing countries. Therefore, to apprise everybody on the causes and preventive measures, grade 9 students conducted an edifying morning assembly to spread awareness on Dengue fever. They provided lucidity on various ways to curb the spread of these menacing diseases. The assembly proved to be extremely informative and interesting as the Presidians provided solutions that can be carried out in our daily lives.

CBSE GRADE 10 BOARD RESULTS: CLEARED WITH FLYING COLOURS!

A great deal of determination leads to outstanding results!

It is strong determination that made our Presidians walk on their chosen path of learning and gain holistic education. The result of which can be seen through their academic excellence in the grade 10 board examinations in session 2017-18. Our heartiest congratulations to Sanskar Singh who scored a total of 89.2% and all our subject toppers who have cleared the 90% bar with flying colours. Their performance in this session have assured us about the great heights to which the Presidium flag will be furled in future.

We are proud to share that our gifted student Sunpreet Kaur of grade 10, has been bestowed with the prestigious ‘Times NIE Student of the year’ award for the session 2017-18. The criteria for selection included academic performance, extra-curricular activities and written test marks. Sunpreet proved herself to be the best in all three domains to secure her place on top. Kudos to our budding champion!

PRESIDIANS EXHIBIT AWESOME PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS AT DECLAMATION

To provide the young yearners with a platform to exhibit their public speaking skills and freely express their emotions, an inter class Declamation competition was held recently. The students from grade 8 enthusiastically participated and expressed their views on various stimulating topics. The learners prepared for the competition under the guidance of their respective teachers. The contestants from all the sections were well versed, well prepared and exceeded everyone’s expectation.

EMPOWERING TEACHERS OF PRESIDIUM WITH ENRICHING WORKSHOPS

Good teachers know how to bring out the best in their students and themselves as well. Teachers at Presidium constantly try to enhance and update themselves to make teaching more effective and reach out to every child in the class. Aiming for the same, a series of thought provoking, invigorating and refreshing activities were organised for the teachers throughout the month of May, such as ‘Student Dealing and Case Study’, ‘Theatre in Education and Soul Cleansing through Music’, ‘Team Building’, ‘Meditation and Stress Management’ and ‘Body Language’. The teachers felt tremendously enriched after the workshops and updated their teaching methods as per the learnings.

THOUGHTFUL PRESIDIANS SPREAD AWARENESS ON WORLD HYPERTENSION DAY

World hypertension day is celebrated annually since 2005 to disseminate the message of maintenance of normal blood pressure among common people. The theme for the year 2018 is ‘Know your blood pressure’. A special assembly on World Hypertension Day was recently conducted by students of grade 9. Students staged a rousing skit to create awareness among public about the blood pressure, high blood pressure, to motivate the people for the regular check-up of their health. It aimed to encourage young people towards maintaining a healthy living through healthy eating and regular physical exercise.
